THE CLIENT/PRODUCT
The client is located in the three northeastern provinces of China, which have fertile land and vast plains and produce rapeseed oil with more than 20% of the Chinese market share; currently, considering the infectious characteristics of covid-19 disease, it was decided to automate and upgrade the current 2-liter bottle cooking oil production line.
THE CHALLENGE
In northeast China , one year time will have long cold time ofwhich is conducive to covid-19 propagation; as well as the production plant on the second floor of the building, the site can be used with little space height. They are looking for a safe and efficient solution that reduces personnel intervention.
THE SOLUTION
Hennopack robot Case Erector
Hennopack can integrate ABB robots into packaging lines to pick and place 2 liftr cooking food oil bottle into the case; Combine with auto case erector to form and seal the box and then transfer to bottle load into box position; meantime, the case sealer will auto fold box top flap and tape sealing.
THE RESULTS:
By switching to a automatic end of line packing system provided by Hennopack, the client significantly decreased labor and increased production, minimize the risk of contracting diseases. The food oil producer knows the erecting cases, bottle inserts cases and case sealing will be properly handled, every single time.
The new robotic packaging system includes one set robot, an auto case erector, a case top sealer, a bottle feeding, and a case transfer conveyor system. On average, it assembles 12 cases bottle packing per minute, one hour could reach 9000 bottles 2 lifters production line.
The new custom-designed robotic case packer system:
case erector suitable for large range box size application, even if the packaging carton is changed in the future, it will still be applicable.
Auto fold case top flap, and sealing with adhesive tape, only 2 mins could exchange different size.
Robots used to pick and place bottles into boxes, the movement is more flexible for the height of the narrow space.
Relative to top load case packers, the efficiency of the robot can still be met in the future replacement of the production line efficiency improvement; at the same time applicable to the expansion of different products applications.
For maintenance, the robot uses a well-known brand – ABB, the quality is recognized as reliable, combined with the Hennopack cam drive method of carton forming machine; maintenance engineers involved in the intervention time will be greatly reduced, for the epidemic protection will be more secure.
workflow
1. Servo channel splitter will divide the oil bottles from one into the two channels needed for packaging and convey them to the gripping platform; when the gripping platform is full of material photoelectricity detects that the multi-channel is full of material, feedback signal to the main system。
2. The carton forming machine forms the carton and seals the bottom, and at the same time feeds the carton positioning line via the roller conveyor line, opens the top leaf of the carton, and feeds the in-place signal to the main system.
3. When the signals for the above two steps are in place, the main system will feed the grasping signals back to the robot, which will grab the oil bottle and put it into the box according to the programmed move-radium.
4. Finish packing boxes, transfer to sealing machine, seal boxes by themselves, and output to the warehouse.
The whole robot case packer system, each equipment we use Ethernet communication, which will be conducive to the production enterprises in the future to link the production status of this line to the industry 4.0 system; at the same time for each equipment failure, we can also feedback to the system, analysis of the causes of failure, to collect production information to customers to plan a more effective order arrangement plan.
